iPhotos is a Series of Photos Taken on two iPhone over 14months.

In 2020, I found myself in a a creative rut, I was burnt out, uninspired and confused with the direction of my work. I had tried many things to I to find a way to overcome it, but nothing seemed to work. Using my camera became frustrating, I still wanted to create and I need a way to create without pressure of perfection.

Like many creatives, I've always been a fan of using a high-quality camera to capture moments and create stunning visuals. However, when the thought of bring out my camera and setting it up every time became too tedious. I felt like I was losing out on opportunities to capture the world around me, which was what I truly enjoyed about photography, capturing the world.

Initially using my iPhone camera to take picture was just something out of convenience. For one it was always in my hand, and I didn’t expect much from the images I was capturing, I had always known that it was capable of capturing great pictures, but I had never fully explored its potential. But like anything over time I began to tinker with my the iPhone in my hand, I began to take pictures of anything and everything that caught my eye.

At first, the images weren’t the best. Cause of the low expectations I had for the image quality, and the little effort I put into capturing the images it was just another thing to do. However, as I continued to take pictures on my devices, I began to realize that the quality of the some of the pictures was just as good, if not better than those taken with some “high-quality camera”.

Using my iPhone camera also gave me more freedom to experiment with different angles and compositions. I could easily capture a moment without worrying about setting up my camera and taking too much time to get the perfect shot. Instead, I could simply pull out my iPhone and snap a picture on the go it became an extension of my eye.

As I continued to use my iPhone camera, I found that my creative block began to dissipate. The act of taking pictures became a source of inspiration and motivation for me. I found myself noticing small details in the world around me that I had never seen before, and this led to a newfound appreciation for the beauty in everyday life.
