iPhotos - “a series of photos taken on two iPhones.”
In 2020, I found myself in a creative rut and was struggling to find direction in my work. Despite trying various methods to overcome it, I felt uninspired and was unable to create anything that satisfied my artistic aspirations.
As a photographer who has always relied on high-quality cameras to capture moments and create stunning visuals, I found myself at a loss when even the best equipment failed to provide the inspiration that I needed. However, my determination to capture the world around me led me to experiment with my iPhone camera, which I had always viewed as a convenient tool rather than a serious piece of equipment.
As I tinkered with my iPhone and explored its potential, I discovered that it was capable of producing images that were just as good as those taken with high-end cameras. I realized that using my iPhone camera gave me the freedom to experiment with different angles and compositions, allowing me to capture moments without worrying about getting the perfect shot. In fact, the spontaneity of using my iPhone became an extension of my eye, allowing me to see the world in a different light.
The more I used my iPhone camera, I found that my creative block began to dissipate. The simple act of taking pictures became a source of inspiration and motivation for me. I began to notice the small details in the world around me that I had never seen before, and this led to a newfound appreciation for the beauty in everyday life.
I have come to realize that inspiration can come from the most unexpected places. While high-quality cameras are certainly valuable tools for creating stunning images, sometimes the simplest tools can produce unexpected results. In my case, using my iPhone camera helped me to overcome a creative block and rediscover the joy of capturing the world around me.
